feature: Add a new Python exercise based on Carbon Footprint Calculation #4304

Description

Description

I would like to propose a new exercise for the Python track focused on an environmental theme: A Carbon Footprint Calculator.

This exercise will help students practice basic arithmetic operations, conditional logic (if/else), and working with dictionaries (storing emission factors) while learning about sustainability.

Learning Objectives

  • Variables and basic data types.
  • Control flow (conditionals).
  • Simple math formulas in Python.

Exercise Scenario

The student will write a function that takes a user's daily habits (e.g., kilometers driven, dietary choices, electricity usage) and returns their estimated daily CO2 emissions based on provided standard coefficients.

Additional Context

Connecting coding challenges with real-world issues like climate change can make learning Python more engaging and meaningful for new developers. I would be happy to help design the test cases or write the description for this exercise!

Hello. Thanks for opening an issue on Exercism 🙂

At Exercism we use our Community Forum, not GitHub issues, as the primary place for discussion. That allows maintainers and contributors from across Exercism's ecosystem to discuss your problems/ideas/suggestions without them having to subscribe to hundreds of repositories.

This issue will be automatically closed. Please use this link to copy your GitHub Issue into a new topic on the forum, where we look forward to chatting with you!
