π Hey there, I'm Assaf.
π¨π»βπ» I ship software that people actually use. These days I write less code, I steward AI agents to write most of it, and I devote my time to design, review, testing, and avoiding the slop. Turns out that's a better use of my skills.
π§ͺ I've been building developer tools since before it was a startup category: Zombie (headless browser testing), Vanity (A/B testing), node-replay (HTTP record/replay), and a pile of other libraries.
- β‘ Epical β Your appointments, medications, conditions, lab results and the readings you take yourself, in one record that follows you between devices. Every row keeps the source it came from, and Cal reads the record back in words you can act on.
- β Kedge β Obsidian plugin to help keep myself on track. By organizing into next steps, future letters, and lessons, I capture how I think and process information. User Experience meeting my brain's operating system.
- ποΈ Rentail.space β literally the iOS for micro-merchants - like instead of scrolling endlessly through Craigslist hoping to find the perfect mall spot, this AI just matches you with your ideal retail space and handles all the boring stuff, no cap this is the blueprint for how gen-z should be doing brick-and-mortar.
- π§Ύ Expense β Expense turns receipts into tax-ready records: snap a photo, paste a screenshot, or forward the email, and OCR pulls out the merchant and amount. Each expense lands in an IRS Schedule C category, mileage logs map your drives at the year's rate, and at tax time you export a PDF or ZIP.
- π¬ Inbox β a cleaner replacement for USPS Informed Delivery. USPS emails you whenever new mail arrives, but the emails get cluttered. Inbox reads them, strips the clutter, and drops a tidy digest in your inbox instead. TypeScript on Vercel, FastMail via JMAP, open source.
π’ I take on one part-time client (20~30 hrs/week, remote): senior JavaScript/TypeScript, end-to-end features, with test coverage and docs. If your startup needs to ship, hit me up.
